> Calvet : the wine merchant's table
.
|
|
Calvet, a wine merchant in the heart of the Chartrons, Bordeaux's historic wine trade district, has opened a restaurant seating 45.
This 19th-century Renaissance-style château, former residence of the Calvet family, features a luxurious interior with charming, richly-furnished drawing rooms and a wine-tasting room.
|
"I really had the impression of being behind the scenes in the wine trade" says one of Table Calvet's guests. "I could even go into the owner's office, where he used to do business."
The Chef, Pierrick Célibert, prepares creative, gourmet cuisine using the finest seasonal produce. Four dining rooms seat 5 – 80 people for business lunches, seminars, or meetings.
Maison Calvet organises wine tastings on request in a specially-equipped room, as well as tours of the vat room and ageing cellars. A unique journey into the rarefied world of the wine trade.

|
Approaching Château Loudenne, visitors are instantly struck by the landscape. The estate overlooks the Gironde estuary and it is the only Médoc château with its own private port. Visitors can sail along the river beside the château's Cru Bourgeois Supérieur vineyards on a gabarre (a traditional boat from this estuary).
Château Loudenne is a 17th-century country manor, unique in the north Médoc region, also known as the "Pink Château". Thanks to long experience of organising receptions, the château offers high-quality accommodation as well as cuisine featuring local specialities.
New services
Four new services are offered this year, including three for businesses: residential seminars, incentives (wine tutored testings, cookery classes, etc.) and corporate receptions. |
All measures are taken to provide a elegant, comfortable environment: 15 Victorian-style rooms, a seminar room (seats up to 150), a private dining room (seats 20), the vintage kitchen seating 70 for meals, and a professional tasting room for wine tutored tastings (30 people).

This is rather unexpected a stone's throw from the Chartrons district. The entire building complies with strict safety standards. |
It can accommodate up to 1,400 people on two floors. The decor and layout of the two rooms (600 m² and 2,300 m²) can be personalised for any event: modern art exhibitions, gala dinners, meetings, fashion shows, etc.
