The Bordeaux Ambassador Programme or Club des Ambassadeurs de Bordeaux – an effective way of promoting Bordeaux as an ideal venue for French and international conferences.

Created by the Bordeaux Gironde Convention Bureau in March 2007, the Club des Ambassadeurs de Bordeaux includes eminent Bordelais from the fields of science and medicine who do their utmost to promote the region as an ideal venue for national and international conferences. Backed up by help and expert advice from the Convention Bureau, efforts by Club members have already led to Bordeaux's candidature for several major meetings.

The Club des Ambassadeurs also acts as a social network, offering members opportunities to meet and participate in events organised by the city of Bordeaux.

On the 15th of November 2007, members of the Club des Ambassadeurs attended a cocktail reception in the Grand Théâtre in Bordeaux, joined by celebrities from the world of opera such as Thierry Fouquet, director of the Bordeaux Opera, and Charles Jude, Dance Director.

On the 3rd of February, the Ambassadeurs were also invited to the qualifying leg of the Bordeaux International Showjumping event in Bordeaux. Involving the world’s best riders over three days, this was the only leg of the Rolex FEI indoor World Cup to be held in France. However, the marketing concept behind this event, and a satisfaction rate of 95% by the competition's partners with Bordeaux's infrastructures, show that this event was not at all restricted to riding enthusiasts.
