The Bordeaux Ambassador Club was officially launched during a prestigious dinner offered by Mr Alain Juppé, Mayor of Bordeaux, on March 28, 2007. This program is aimed to attract academic conferences to Bordeaux.
Through this initiative, the Bordeaux Gironde Convention Bureau is targeting both national and international conferences. Sixty leading scientists were welcomed by Mr Juppé and Mr Jean Michel Cazes, president of the Convention Bureau.
They were asked to use their network to promote Bordeaux as a conference destination.
Bordeaux welcomes two exceptional exhibitions this next fall. A good opportunity to organize your events in an exclusive setting.
• To celebrate the Rugby World Cup, the Aquitaine Museum organises an exhibition dedicated to this sport. From 5 September 2007 until 31 December 2007, « Le Rugby, c’est un monde » is a unique event in France.
Not only does the exhibition introduce you to this sport but it also tackles the cultural phenomenon of rugby through its human dimension, emotion, humour, entertainment and invites you to think about our society in general.
Different types of items will be displayed: objects, shirts, texts, documents, pictures, videos and music.
For this occasion, the Aquitaine Museum can throw a reception or a cocktail party for you, as well as coordinate guided tours of the exhibition. Don’t miss this great opportunity!
• "If everybody had an Ocean” in November 2007, is an exhibition dedicated to the fascination surrounding the Beach Boys, in particular that of Brian Wilson, in contemporary creation from the 60’s to today. It will bring together an important number of historical artworks of the Californian scene and also new productions by artists created specially for the exhibition. The artworks, laid out in the nave of the CAPC, will call to mind the sense of music, the surf feeling, and the social, cultural and psychological circumstances that contributed to their rise.
The exhibition entitled will be accompanied by a musical and film program about the Beach Boys and the surf culture.

Chantal Ngu has joined the team of the Mercure Atria Cité Mondiale as an Events Organizer. She is replacing Marina Blézeau who is now Sales Manager for the Golf du Médoc Hôtel & Spa that recently opened.
Chantal Ngu was previously working as an Events Manager for the Paramount Carlton Hotel in Edinburgh, Scotland.
