THE VINEYARDS
No other wine
is more famous than Bordeaux. It is produced to the north,
east, and south-east of the city of Bordeaux. The most famous
appellations are Médoc, Saint-Emilion, Pomerol, Entre-Deux-Mers,
Sauternes, Graves, etc.
We will be glad to introduce you to the culture and history
behind the fine wines of Bordeaux.
Introduction
to wine tasting
An introduction to the aromas and flavours of wine, with blind
tastings. Tutored comparative tastings of great growth wines.
How to start a cellar. Matching wine with food, etc.
Touring the
Bordeaux vineyards
An excursion along the wine road with stops to tour and taste
at some of the finest chateaux in Bordeaux. You can visit
the vineyard area that interests you most and meet the people
who make the wine.
Meals in a
wine château
Many châteaux will be glad to welcome guests for lunch or
dinner. Meals vary from a simple "vintage meal" to a gala
dinner. There is undoubtedly a location that fits your needs.
Dinners can be rounded off with tasting courses, tasting games,
or other entertainments (classical musicians, troubadours,
dance orchestras, clowns, etc.).
Induction
into vinous brotherhoods
Your prestige guests can also be introduced into a Bordeaux
wine brotherhood during a ceremony that goes back to the Middle
Ages.
SPORTS
There are 200 hectares of pine trees between the Atlantic coast and the Gironde's fresh-water lakes. The beach is ideally suited for all sorts of sports.
A wide variety of sports
There are more than 20 different activities for groups of up to 1,000 people: kayak, mountain bike, archery, rock-climbing, pedal boats, orienteering, etc. Each team can take part in several activities to find the winning team with the best overall score.
Tailor-made activities
After a day's work, all sorts of fun activities are available: mountain bike, tennis, wind-surfing, surfing, quads, etc.
In the centre
of Bordeaux, close to your hotel, you will enjoy practising
the kart on ice, bowling or cycling on a professional
cycle-racing track, either for a moment of leisure after a
meeting or for a team-building experience.
ARCACHON BAY
Due to its unusual geography, Arcachon Bay is one of the most remarkable sites in Europe. It is famous for its oysters and the Dune du Pyla. An oyster farm with tasting is well worth the visit. You can also take a tour around the bay in a pinasse (typical flat-bottomed boat) and climb up the Dune du Pyla.
HISTORIC SITES
The Gironde is
a land of abbeys, windmills and chateaux. These bear witness
to the power of the clergy and the Aquitaine feudal lords,
in a region which was the subject of power struggles for a
long time.
Medieval villages and historic castles are ideal places to
include on excursions or as the setting for gala meals or
special events. The Bordeaux Gironde Convention Bureau can
help you choose the place that is best adapted to your needs.
RECEPTION FACILITIES
Many facilities are available for prestige receptions in the city of Bordeaux, in the vineyards, or on the coast.
The Bordeaux Gironde Convention Bureau can help you find the perfect place, whatever your needs.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Tasting games during meals, comparative tasting of Sauternes wines as an aperitif, troubadours, and jugglers in an historic château. Or why not classical music in a former cloister, a show by troubadours on an 18th century square in Old Bordeaux, or a dance orchestra?

We will be glad to provide you with the names and addresses of agencies specialised in organising congresses, seminars and incentive trips.
Their perfect knowledge of the Bordeaux area, and local services, is the guarantee of top-class organisation and perfect logistical preparation.
