Founded in 2007, the Ambassador Club of Bordeaux has created an environment propitious to welcoming French and especially international conferences to Bordeaux.

The Ambassadors are well-known local personalities from university, medical and scientific circles active in French and international associations. They play an essential role by spreading the word about what an attractive destination Bordeaux become to their colleagues all over the world, and by attracting conferences in Bordeaux.

It is estimated that 75% of all conferences come to a city thanks to the influence of a local contact.  Very active in their field of expertise, the Ambassadors promote Bordeaux's virtues, and we acknowledge their precious role by providing them with a warm welcome to the Club.

In 2009, the Club has nearly 160 Ambassadors, with particularly strong representation in the medical, chemical, biology, biotechnology, new technology and physics sectors.

Based on synergy and shared dynamics, the Ambassador Club of Bordeaux was initiated by the Bordeaux Gironde Convention Bureau. The BGCB continues to support the club, which is complemented by each member's skills and contacts.

 
The Ambassadors helped asked the BGCB to help them support 19 convention candidacies since the beginning. Fourteen of these have already been accepted, representing some 6,950 participants and an estimated economic impact of over 4 million euros.
