They chose the Bordeaux Exhibition Centre
With almost 280 events organized in 2009 on the three venues (the Exhibition Centre, the Convention Centre and the Hangar 14), Congrès et Expositions de Bordeaux remains a major actor of business tourism in Bordeaux and contributes to the image and notoriety of Bordeaux.
Stretching over 80,000 m², the Exhibition Centre has been hosting important local and international events for 40 years. Focus on two striking events: AQUIBAT and “les Olympiades des Métiers”.
AQUIBAT is a trade fair gathering professionals of construction and public works. For its third edition, the exhibition is on the rise. From the 10th to the 12nd, March, 22,000 visitors met 570 exhibitors on 40,000 m² of floor space (Hall 1 and Hall 3). This year, the organizers decided to make this event go greener.
A month later the Hall 2 hosted “les Olympiades des Métiers” organized by the Aquitaine Regional Council. 300 young professionals came to represent their job. They competed against each other to run the national final in 2011. It was a real challenge for all those students who worked 12 hours to represent 53 professions. With 64 medals and a rewarding experience, no doubt this event will help them in their future career.
Next event: the International Fair of Bordeaux, from the 8th to the 17th of May, with an extraordinary exhibition of planes to celebrate a hundred years of aviation in Bordeaux!
