They are delighted with the excellent traditional cuisine of Southwest France prepared with the finest ingredients.
Pleasure is the byword at the Tupina: that of diners, of course, but also the pleasure the owner, Jean-Pierre Xiradakis, derives from scouring the region to find the best produce and wines...
The heart of the restaurant is the fireplace at the entrance where soup cooks in a cauldron (or tupina in Basque), meat is grilled over embers, chicken is roasted, and homemade chips are slowly cooked in duck fat.
The Tupina has a relaxed atmosphere, but the service is unfailingly professional, with a constant desire to please the customer.
The simple menu reflects the region's gastronomic heritage: lamb, Bordeaux-style lamprey, ceps, game, asparagus (when in season), etc.
The wine list includes a large range of Bordeaux, from excellent-value small estates to the greatest châteaux.
Whether you enjoy the warmth of the fireplace in winter or dine outdoors on the terrace, weather permitting, the Tupina staff always provide prompt, courteous service.
The Tupina has a sister restaurant just across the street called the Épicerie where you can enjoy lunch or dinner as well as do your shopping since the restaurant also sells a wide selection of tinned goods, including certain products you tasted at your meal.
Of course, there is the Bar-Cave as well! This "neighbourhood bistro" features simple, delicious food accompanied by wines from the Côtes de Bordeaux.
Furthermore, starting in early 2011, the Tupina will also be offering five guest rooms in an 18th century building located opposite the restaurant. These spacious, comfortable rooms have been tastefully decorated with contemporary oil paintings and modern, functional furniture.
Everything possible is done at all these establishments to leave you with an unforgettable memory.
